Mission Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego
El Fin del Mundo. That is how they call the boundless land stretching across the southern part of Patagonia, which, beyond the Strait of Magellan, becomes Tierra del Fuego. The last frontier of a primordial world, where the wind carves nature with ancestral fury and the Torres del Paine challenge the sky like sentinels of stone. It is within this theatre of untamed majesty that the eighth SR Explorer Mission unfolds: a journey in search of emotions and encounters with those who inhabit this land so vividly described by the great writers of the past. Here, the gauchos are the last guardians of an age-old tradition that defies time itself.
What is the Explorer Project?
Since 2023, Stefano Ricci included its seasonal campaigns into the Explorer Project, a high-profile initiative focusing on global exploration and environmental conservation. The aim of the project is to showcase the new menswear collections set in some of the most breathtaking locations of the world, where nature and heritage meet luxury fashion. After the celebrations for the 50th anniversary in Luxor, we travelled to Iceland, to the site of Europe’s largest glacier, and witnessed its irreversible melting with our own eyes. From that experience was born a deeper awareness, a sense of responsibility towards the generations to come. Thanks to extraordinary travelling companions, we discovered new worlds, photographed rare animals, and came to know more profoundly countries we had perhaps visited for work, but never truly explored. Exploration is not only about discovering new territories or advancing scientific knowledge; it is, above all, a collective commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and shared responsibility. In this historical moment, marked by rapid and complex transformations, the spirit of exploration takes on strategic significance. It becomes a guiding principle for fostering research, supporting education, promoting sustainable development, and ensuring a future in which innovation and responsibility advance hand in hand.
