SR WATCHES - OCTAGON

DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

OCTAGON, by STEFANO RICCI, is the brand’s worldwide debut into Haute Horlogerie. SR OCTAGON watches are available in limited editions of 10 for each Chronograph, Annual Calendar, and Perpetual Calendar model, including precious Diamond Lux versions (all numbered) as well as the new limited editions of 10 for each Cronograph and Annual Calendar model in white and yellow gold. The OCTAGON design recalls an amphitheatre of 18KT gold (45,5mm x 14,8 thickness). Each Diamond Lux version has been enriched with 88 diamonds, set with the ancient a battuta method. One hundred SR OCTAGON watches in total, rendered unique unto themselves as each cuvette covering the transparent watch back has been hand-etched with the English scroll technique; as for a style concept, the SR Octagon Chronograph and Annual Calendar models in yellow gold leaves visible mechanical movement. Particular attention has been paid to the SR OCTAGON after-sales service. In case of any problems, the owner of a STEFANO RICCI watch can personally contact the Manager of the SR boutique where the timepiece was purchased. An appointed staff member will then reach the client, anywhere in the world, to collect the watch and deliver it directly to a specialist artisan laboratory as well as subsequently taking care of the item’s return to the watch owner.

CHRONOGRAPH

The STEFANO RICCI Octagon Chronograph immerses the measurements of time in the nuances of a Pavé de Paris dial. It re-emerges in an architectural concert in which the octagonal Renaissance plan of the counters, arranged on the horizontal axis, is united and harmonised with the chronograph hour totaliser. The movement of the chronograph second is delicate. The power reserve lasts 50 hours, which decreases to 42 hours when the chronograph function is activated.

ANNUAL CALENDAR

The STEFANO RICCI Octagon Annual Calendar has its markers arranged on a golden chequerboard. Thus making the eternity of the time cycle the protagonist, by utilising the retrograde jump of the date and the analogue impact of the cycle of days and months. The moons, in an unusual blue aventurine, transfer on the mirrored surface the reflection of the immensity of the universe on the brightness of our satellite. All is in a play of light that is imbued with refined balance.

PERPETUAL CALENDAR

The STEFANO RICCI Octagon Perpetual Calendar sublimates the “infinite” meaning of the octagonal shape, linking the case’s material. It is an articulated and visible feature compared to the immaterial aspect of a reassuring time, which needs no corrections as it perpetually unfolds. The longitudinal asymmetry of the markers lightens the numerical flow of the date and establishes the calendar information at a glance. Astronomical moon phases require a one-day correction every 122 years.

THE ENGRAVINGS

Attention to detail is also found on the watch back, engraved by master craftsmen using the inglesina, or “English Scroll”, technique which enhances the artisan workmanship. Lines and dots create floral themes in a marked, fascinating contrast of light-and-shade effects. STEFANO RICCI has opted to transfer similar savoir-faire to the rear cuvette of his watches, which is hinged on the back. A fully-fledged work of art which ensures every single watch is highly customised.

THE SR WATCH CASE

As Stefano Ricci himself says, Florence is “my love and my soul”. Octagon reflects the magnificence of Florence, and the case of his timepiece is every bit as stunning. The octagonal shape is honed from mighty Californian briar-root wood, with an elegant touch afforded by a European graft in the composition, worked by hand by skilled Florentine craftsmen. The watch takes centre stage, propped on a suede and crocodile cylinder. The little box of wonders contains a travel case for the watch, and a document holder, both in crocodile.

AFTER-SALES SERVICE

The after-sales service has long been a distinguishing element for STEFANO RICCI. For SR Watches, the service is provided by the artisan atelier of Fleurier, in keeping with the tenets of fine watchmaking, Fleurier being the very same manufacture that crafts the mechanisms and assembles the watches. Wherever needed, specialist SR staff are entirely at the client’s disposal for any assistance required.
