After more than twenty years, Florence is rediscovering its skyline thanks to an initiative promoted by the Gallerie degli Uffizi. The project, announced by the museum’s management, involves the removal of the crane that has dominated the city’s profile for decades, restoring the original view of the prestigious exhibition complex and the proper perspective of the Torre d’Arnolfo and Brunelleschi’s Dome.
Stefano Ricci S.p.A. will be the main sponsor of the project, which is being led by the Uffizi’s Director Simone Verde.
Stefano Ricci, Founder and President, said: “It is a small act of love towards Florence, the city where I founded my company and to which, also on behalf of my family, we owe a great deal for accompanying us during our beginnings. Florence has always been a source of inspiration and a cultural horizon. Restoring its skyline is not only an aesthetic value but above all a form of respect”.
Niccolò Ricci, CEO of Stefano Ricci S.p.A, added: “It is an intervention that has been awaited for a long time. An initiative we chose to support as a sign of social and cultural responsibility. We have always paid close attention to high-quality initiatives, including the donation of the new lighting systems for the Loggia de’ Lanzi and the Ponte Vecchio. These actions represent a rightful acknowledgement of Florence - a city that, through its name and heritage, has contributed to our success.”
Filippo Ricci, Creative Director of the brand, stated: “Our connection with the Gallerie is renewed through this act. In particular, we see it as a symbol of continuity – one that began with our fashion show at the Uffizi and the reopening of the Sala Bianca to fashion shows thanks to our defilé.”
