Valentino Conte

Filmmaker

Valentino Conte is a director and visual storyteller for whom the set has always been shaped by the culture. He grew up immersed in cinema, fashion and photography, and that world formed by the way he still looks at images today, attentive to what lies beneath the surface. His path has taken him across commissioned work, documentary and narrative filmmaking, collaborating with brands, companies and artists across widely different territories. What draws him is the pursuit of images that resist time: beauty as a language spoken along the way, never the final destination. What lingers, instead, is emotion, atmosphere, meaning. For Conte, filmmaking is a terrain to be navigated rather than a formula to be applied: shooting, rhythm, space, music and post-production move together as one continuous journey. His work travels between the natural and the constructed, between observation and staging, letting reality and fiction share the same horizon. He approaches filmmaking as an expedition undertaken with others, shaped by the sensibilities, skills and instincts of every person who joins the journey. Rather than settling into one format or technique, his process begins with observation and curiosity, in search of something the viewer can feel, not just see. His long-standing collaboration with Stefano Ricci has found one of its most powerful expressions in the SR Explorer project. Born from the brand's own spirit of discovery, the campaign gave Conte rare passage into a larger narrative, one that moves between fashion, expedition and reportage. Crossing remote landscapes and encountering different cultures, SR Explorer became a space where composed imagery and spontaneous moments could exist within the same story, a journey that continues to shape how he sees the world.
