STEFANO RICCI HERITAGE TROPHY
The bodywork of the automobile as an expression of design and craftsmanship. Unique vehicles from the world's most important collections. The second edition of the "STEFANO RICCI Heritage Trophy" is a celebration of style and mechanics. Forty top cars produced between the 1920s and the 1970s, all on show in Piazza Pitti for a unique event. A hit with critics and the public alike, the event took place ten years after the first edition held in the Boboli Gardens, recalling the legendary concorsi d’eleganza competitions held there in 1948, as well as the exhibitions (1903-1905) at the Parco delle Cascine.
THE CATEGORIES
The cars competed for the "Best of" Elegance and Sport categories: an international jury allocated prizes which were awarded at the start of the evening to mark the Celebrity Fight Night celebrations by STEFANO RICCI and the Antico Setificio Fiorentino alongside the Muhammad Alì Parkinson Center and Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
THE PRIZES
The prizes were made entirely by hand by STEFANO RICCI master silversmiths. They were displayed in Piazza Pitti during the two-day event.
BEST OF SPORT
The prize for the “Best of Sport” category, for vehicles that competed in the original Mille Miglia, was awarded to the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS, Pinin Farina, from the Destriero Collection.
BEST OF ELEGANCE
The vehicle that distinguished itself for Elegance was the Lancia Asturia IV Serie Convertible, Pinin Farina, 1937, belonging to Saulius Karosas.
A PASSION FOR HISTORIC CARS
Stefano Ricci has passed on his passion for historic cars to his sons Niccolò and Filippo. Over the years, the family has built up its own private collection. It is a love affair that began when, as a child, the future designer saw the Mille Miglia race pass through Florence. He went on to compete several times over in the "world's best race" and to become, in recent years, the main sponsor of various editions.
